So You Want To Date a Model, Eh?

You have made it this far. And because you have made it this far i’m assuming you’re currently dating or would like to date a model. Many people like the idea of dating a model but when it comes down to it fall short of actually knowing what it truly means to date a model or can even handle dating one.

So, I have decided to help you all out. Here are some tips and pointers for my readers currently pursuing a model.

Five Tips on How to Successfully Date a Model

1. Do not show you are infatuated by the modeling industry.

Models treat their profession as any other job. By solely talking about a model’s profession you may end up losing a chance with dating a model as they may think you are only interested in dating them because of the title.

2. A model is a hustler.

The modeling industry is currently oversaturated. If you live in or near big markets such as Los Angeles, New York City or Miami you will encounter many models who are hustlers and are therefore balancing a multitude of careers.  Although a model may be signed to an agency, they’re entrepreneurs in their own right. For this reason, a model may at times have a sporadic and sometimes a busy schedule if it’s peak season (e.g., fashion week). You’ll need to be understanding of a model’s hustle mentality.

3.  A model receives a lot of attention.

Models for the most receive a lot of attention both on social media and in many cases real life. Some may even be heavy active on social media. If you decide to date a model you must be able to handle this type of attention  both on the scene and off the scene.

4. Security (within yourself) is a must.

As mentioned above, models typically get a lot of attention and work with many different people. If this bothers you then you may want to reconsider seriously dating one.

5. You will need to be flexible.

Models are typically given short notice when they are booked for work. Whether this be castings, call backs or test shoots, a model‘s schedule can at times be very irregular. As a result of this, you’ll need to be flexible. It is not uncommon for a model to have to cancel plans at the last minute because they booked a gig or have an urgent casting they may need to attend.
